Submit Abstract

Abstract Submission Guidelines:

Participants are invited to submit an ePoster abstract related to the theme of the conference: Collaborate, Change, Celebrate.


Theme for this Virtual conference:

This theme reflects the common goal for connecting all stakeholders (women who have perinatal mental health needs, their families, clinicians, educators, researchers, advocates, policy makers, etc.). ALL relevant ePosters of high quality submitted will be considered for eligibility. 


ePoster abstracts should be 300 words long, in PDF electronic format and sent to the following email SPMHS.UMHL@hse.ie. All ePosters will be displayed “online” at the irishmedicos website, on the event platform during the conference and poster abstracts will be published as part of our conference delegate pack (unless otherwise requested).


Those accepted for an ePoster will be contacted by 1st of November 2021.Three ePosters will be selected by the conference organising committee for oral presentations. Participants whose ePoster has been selected will be asked to submit a pre-recorded presentation (maximum duration 7 minutes) to the Conference Platform.There is a prize for the three best ePoster presentations and conference participants will be asked to vote for the best overall ePoster.


Abstract Headings for the Submission Form:

  1. Abstract title (please make sure your word document is saved with the same presentation title)
  2. Presenting author and affiliation
  3. Presenting author email (communication will be made with the presenting author only and they are responsible for liaising with any other authors)
  4. Other authors with their affiliations
  5. Introduction/Aim/Purpose statement
  6. Method/Design/Approach
  7. Results/Findings
  8. Discussion/Lessons Learnt
  9. Research and Practice Implications
  10. References; acknowledgement of support –please ensure that you include funding bodies and relevant logos
  11. ePosters should not advertise any products or services.


ePoster Presentation:

  • These are accepted in PowerPoint format and the presentation may be compiled on one slide only. 
  • You may choose Landscape orientation only 
  • Number of pages (slides): one (1).
  • For embedded images please use .jpeg or .png file formats. Please be mindful of any copyright issues of photos used when creating your posters.
  • Font - Arial, Verdana, Tahoma and Times New Roman are recommended.
  • Submit ePoster file in .ppt or .pptx format (PowerPoint format). The file must not be larger than 250MB


Abstract Reviewing:

All ePoster abstracts will be reviewed by a panel set up by the Organizing Committee and will be judged on the following:


  • Originality of concept/approach and level of innovativeness 
  • Significance/impact/relevance to conference 
  • Quality of research design/theoretical argument
  • Conclusions and interpretations of results
  • Presentation style: coherence and clarity of structure


Closing Date:

All ePoster abstracts to be submitted by 29th of October 2021.


Three authors will be contacted on Monday 1st of November to request a pre-recorded 7 minute presentation to be submitted by the 8th of November. If you would prefer not to submit a pre-recorded presentation please indicate this on your submission.
